The Practice of Guru Amitayus

Regarding this method of long-life Padmasambhava said:
“Having received this most essential method of long-life
from Amitayus I practiced it with my consort the Princess Mandarava in the cave of Maratika attained the vajra dimension beyond death.
Future yogin and yogini make sure you also apply this method perfectly.”
Having said that he hid this terma in the rock cliff of Lhang Lhang Norbu’i Yangtse.
Later Nyagla Pema Dudul retrieved the precious yellow scroll of this
teaching and dechipered the symbolic script, opening infinite possibilities of liberation for all beings.

The Chulen of the Three Kayas

The teaching on the Chulen of the Three Kayas was requested by Yeshe Tsogyal and others to Padmasambhava when he was residing in Tibet. At that time he said:
“Listen, the pith instructions on the Chulen of the Three Kayas-Dhamkaya, Samboghakaya, Nirmanakaya– taught to yogin and yogini who practice for achieving total realization. When you receives these instructions make sure you apply them day and night.”

Then he taught in detail Yeshe Tsogyel and the other the substances for each of these Chulen, the way to empower them, and how to take them.
After having explained the wonderful benefits of this chulen he hid this teaching in a rock cliff.
Nyagla Pema Dudul retrieved it from the sacred place of Lhang Lhang Norbu, and practiced himself attaining the rainbow body.

Nyagla Pema Dudul was born into a rich family at the beginning of the nineteenth century in Eastern Tibet. At the age of seven, following the death of his father, he fell into poverty, was repeatedly robbed, suffered several illness and was reduced to begging. This social alienation drew him to the spiritual teaching. At first he wondered around singing and telling stories of saints and masters and the benefits of reciting the mantra of Avalokiteshvara. Slowly he became accepted by high masters who also recognized him as an incarnation of previous masters. During his captivity in Nyagke he met Do Khyentse Yeshe Dorje an outsanding master of Eastern Tibet. With the time the qualities of Nyagla Pema Dudul unfolded in his dreams and mystic experiences to the point who he was encouraged to guide others with spiritual advice. He discovered his treasure, the cycle of the Self-Liberation that Encompasses Space who gained the acceptance of other masters who asked him to receive its transmission. Nyagla Pema Dudul never accepted a hierachical role. Hi spent most of his life in pilgrimages and in long retreats in solitary hermitage. His ascetic and nomadic existence combined with his fame as terton gave him a profile similar to the ancient siddhas of India. Among his masters we find do Khyentse Yeshe Dorje and Dza Paltrul, the manations of the mind and voice respectily of Jigme Lingpa. But also Khatog Situ, Adzam Drukpa, Kongtrul Yonten Gyatsho, Nyoshul Lungtog, the 4th incarnation of Dzogchen Pema Rigdzin, and the 14th Karmapa.
Among his many students figures Rigdzin Changchub Dorje and Ayu Khandro the master of Rigdzin Chogyal Namkhai Norbu.
At the culmination of his activities after having lived a several months
solely on the Chulen of the Dharmakaya, without assuming any food, he demonstrated the attainment of the rainbow body, leaving behind only hair and nails.
